Registration & Enrollment
Registration for the 2024-25 season opens June 21st 2024 and closes February 8th 2025.
Dance Studio Pro
Please navigate to our Online Portal with Dance Studio Pro to make your account and register for classes. This portal is what you will use for everything related to your time with our studio.

Tuition will be posted on the 20th of every month, to be paid no later than the 1st of the following month: i.e. October tuition should be paid between September 20th and October 1st. Courtesy email reminders will be sent. Tuition payments may be made via electronic check with a checking account on file, credit card payment with a credit card on file, physical check, or cash. Please notify us in advance if you wish to pay via physical payment. It will need to be paid in person at the studio. All auto-pay will be run on the 1st of the month.

Please note: Tuition must be current by the 1st of the month in order for a student to be allowed to participate in their class. If there is any difficulty paying tuition, please reach out to Miss Grey about payment plans; we are happy to work with our families (within reason) to ensure they can continue to pursue their love of dance!

Late Enrollment
Enrollment is considered "late" in or after October, 2024.
While we do not charge a registration fee for enrolling new students, we do require all participating families to pay the same amount toward recital costs, which are factored into monthly tuition. As a result, any family enrolling in or after October will be asked to pay $10 for each month they missed: i.e. if you enroll in December, you owe $20 for October & November. This can be paid in one sum or added to your monthly balance to be paid over time. This cannot be refunded.

Season Dates | Recital | Refunds
Our 2024-25 season begins Monday, September 9th, and will extend until our recital in June 2025.

The recital is mandatory for all dancers, except the adult classes. Students will begin working on their recital dance in March 2025.

To end your enrollment: Please inform us of your decision in writing. You may finish your classes within the current billing cycle, if you so choose, and will not be charged again; there will be no refund offered for choosing not to take the classes for which you were already billed.
We do not issue refunds for the months you were actively enrolled.
Should you decide to end your enrollment prior to the recital, you will not be refunded the recital fees built into your tuition. If costumes have already been ordered and your account up to your unenrollment date is current, you are welcome and encouraged to take your recital costume with you when you leave!

Trial Classes
We welcome anyone interested in our program to participate in one trial class per person per style at no cost to you. This is an excellent way to try out a dance style and to see if Rhythm in Motion feels like the right place for you! Please visit our online portal or contact us for more details.
Studio Closures
In regards to WEATHER and HOLIDAYS, we typically follow the closures of the Oak Harbor School District, although there are exceptions. There will be no make-up classes or tuition adjustments offered for closures due to inclement weather. Holiday closures will have the offer of a makeup class for all classes scheduled on the holiday (i.e. for Memorial Day, students in Monday classes would be eligible for make-up classes)
Additional Information
Code of Conduct
This is a space dedicated to the well-being, support, and betterment of our community. We will not tolerate bullying or harassment in any form toward anyone in our space, including (but not limited to) students, families, and staff. We, as a company, will respect the autonomy and dignity of everyone present, and we require our clients to do the same. Refusal to comply can result in a permanent end to enrollment without a refund at the discretion of the studio owners.
We do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of sexual orientation, race, color, gender identification, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, ancestry, legally protected medical conditions including genetic characteristics, marital status, military status, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal laws.

Students are required to participate in their classes. Refusal to listen to Instructors and comply with expected behaviors in class and any behaviors deemed disruptive by their Instructor or Miss Grey (i.e. sitting down, incessant talking, distracting classmates, talking back to the teacher, selective participation, etc.) can result in the student's removal from class, a request for early pickup from their caregiver, and even dismissal from our dance program. This is due to our desire for everyone to be in a fair, consistent learning environment. However, we will work to meet students where they are, take their life circumstances into account, and make reasonable accommodations.
Class Placement
The ages listed beside our class levels serve as a general guideline. However, it is always at the discretion of each student's instructor to determine their ultimate placement. Occasionally, a student might be placed in a class with an age below or above their own. Please know this is only decided after careful consideration by their trained instructor, who wants them to have the best possible chance of success and enjoyment in our studio.

Adult Supervision
All students under the age of 10 must be escorted upstairs upon arrival and must be met at the stairs to be escorted to the parking lot at the end of class. The lobby is open to dancers 15 minutes before the start of their class; we ask all dancers to be quiet and respectful when waiting in the lobby. Family members are encouraged to enter with dancers and remain with them until the start of class. We want our lobby to be comfortable for family; however, due to the layout of the studio and our limited space, family is only allowed to remain in the lobby during class if they are able to be silent and to refrain from making themselves visible to their dancer(s).
We have visibility through our windows, and encourage family members to watch from outside.

Please note: Students may not be left unsupervised. We kindly ask that parents pick up their dancers promptly, as their instructor may have another class beginning immediately. If a student below the age of 10 will be picked up more than 5 minutes after class, please inform Miss Grey or their instructor. The student should wait in the lobby for their safety.
Absences
Dance is a technical, progressive discipline, in which we advance weekly in technique and choreography. Because of this, regular attendance is vital for the individual student and for the class as a whole.

Students are allowed a certain number of unexcused absences per semester:

Semester 1: September through December
Students are allowed up to 3 unexcused absences
Semester 2: January through June (recital)
Students are allowed up to 4 unexcused absences

Once a student has exceeded this number, they are required to pay for a private class at 50% of our regular fee for private classes if they wish to continue enrollment.

We will consider excused absences in the case of: illness, medical emergency/appointments, safety concerns, transportation emergency, and mandatory school events. The request for excused absences must be sent to Miss Grey in writing (via email) with a minimum of 48 hours notice, except for emergent cases in which notice is impossible. The reason for the absence AND the attendance record of the student will be considered when deciding whether to excuse the absence.
Make-Up Sessions
Absences may be made-up in a class of the same or a similar style (i.e. Ballet & Lyrical) at an equivalent or lower level. Make-up classes are not allowed at a higher level.
